Debi Lawson is a native of Wichita, Kansas, but also spent several years living in the Oklahoma City area. She has a Bachelor’s of Business Management and a Master’s in Human Environmental Science, both from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Debi has more than 25 years of experience working with families and children in various capacities, and for many years focused on building families through adoption. As she grew older, and after caring for elderly parents and planning final arrangements for family members, her focus began to shift to end of life planning. While working at a funeral home as a family service counselor, Debi learned the importance of pre-planning and decided to start her own business, Essential Arrangements, to serve families as a Final Arrangement Specialist.
In this way, she is able to help families and individuals with all aspects of final arrangements. Working independently of any specific funeral home or merchandise vendor allows clients to be served in an individually tailored way, and allows objective, unbiased information so they can make informed decisions. Debi is passionate about educating and informing families so that they make the best decisions possible and prepare well for one of the most important life events, which in turn promotes family harmony. She also loves to help research and investigate unique options for individuals who want different and unusual final arrangement plans.
Determined to serve the needs of clients and not provide “cookie cutter” services, Debi pays close attention to the wants and needs of her clients, and by doing so, has expanded the services of Essential Arrangements to provide private fiduciary services, such as guardianship, conservatorship, trustee and power-of-attorney options.
Debi is active in local civic groups such as Soroptimist International of Wichita, Inc. and the West Wichita Women’s Network. She is an active member of Northside Church of Christ and volunteers with the Kansas Guardianship Program.
Debi has personal experience with caring for aging parents and a terminally ill parent. She is married with four children and three grandchildren.
